Position: Education Specialist

Location: Lancaster CA

Job Overview: The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced fulltime Education Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide individualized instruction and support to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) ensuring a supportive and effective learning environment. The Education Specialist will collaborate with educators therapists and families to develop and implement educational programs tailored to each students unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instructional Planning and Delivery:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with ASD.
    • Design and deliver engaging differentiated lessons that meet the diverse learning needs of students.
    • Utilize evidencebased teaching strategies and interventions to support student learning and progress.
  2. Assessment and Evaluation:

    • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
    • Prepare detailed progress reports and maintain accurate records of student performance.
    • Participate in IEP meetings providing insights and recommendations based on assessments.
  3. Classroom Management:

    • Create a positive and structured classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success.
    • Implement effective behavior management strategies to support positive student behavior.
    • Establish and maintain clear expectations routines and procedures.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work collaboratively with general education teachers support staff and administrators to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
    • Participate in team meetings providing valuable insights and recommendations for student support.
  5. Professional Development:

    • Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing professional development.
    • Attend workshops conferences and training sessions as required.
    • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance the overall effectiveness of the special education program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid California teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders or related developmental disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
