Job Title: Senior Ab Initio ETL Developer - Data Integration & Performance Optimization

Location: Mississauga, Ontario (Hybrid)

Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ab Initio Developer with excellent design thinking and coding skills to develop scalable enterprise-grade ETL solutions. The role involves designing frameworks, developing solutions, and leading the team to deliver high-quality ETL solutions. This position requires a strong focus on coding, design, and communication, with the ability to deliver results under challenging schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop highly scalable ETL processes in Ab Initio .
• Demonstrate strong expertise in plans , continuous flows , micrographs , and handling XML files .
• Work extensively with components like XML Split , XML Combine , Normalize , Join with DB , Rollup , etc.
• Develop and handle complex ETL flows, including Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3.
• Provide leadership to the development team and deliver innovative ETL solutions for new business requirements.
• Analyze production issues and provide effective solutions while performing performance tuning .
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Leverage expertise in Unix and shell scripting , as well as database operations, for efficient ETL solutions.

Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Skills :

• 6+ years of experience in Ab Initio design and development .
• Proficiency in handling ETL flows and working with Ab Initio components.
• Familiarity with Unix , shell scripting, and databases.
• Expertise in documenting requirements and delivering high-quality solutions throughout the SDLC .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex issues.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work in culturally diverse virtual teams.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with the Talend ETL tool is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of JIRA for project tracking and requirement management.
• Familiarity with business process modeling tools .

Experience

• Proven experience working on system and user acceptance testing using test management tools.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization for ETL pipelines.
