Basic Job Functions:

  • Create detailed design layouts and schematics for data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project requirements.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements for data centers, including safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities for design improvements and innovations to enhance the performance and efficiency of data centers.
  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements and present design solutions that meet their needs.
  • Ability to design Data Center racking in collaboration with consultant PE’s.
  • Ability to assist Data Center in layout and take-offs.
  • Commitment to increasing sales in the Data Center sector
  • Educate and train customers on Nucor Data Systems products.
  • Prepare 3D model data center design concepts.
  • Build strong working relationships with Data Center customers.
  • Travel to Data Center project sites to perform inspections, as required.
  • Able to travel to industry events as needed.
  • Be a key team member able to interface with all inter-company departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 – 4 years of experience in Sales, Design, and/ or customer service experience.
  • 2 – 4 years of solid understanding of the Data Center Industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of racking engineering requirements.
  • Proficient using Design Software’s (AutoCAD, Solid Works, and Inventor)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 – 4 years experience as a Sales Design/ Engineer, or business development experience within the Data Center sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 proficiency, preferred.
  • Minimum education: Bachelor Degree.
